What calls Sundiata into action?

Throughout the story, we can see the misfortune of Sundiata and his bad luck. He could never walk and Others used to make fun of him and his mother. “`Oh son of misfortune, will you never walk? Through your fault, I have just suffered the greatest affront of my life! What have I done, God, for you to punish me in this way?’” According to this evidence, we can see how desperate is Sundiata’s mother because she does not want people to laugh at her for having a child that does not walk. Moreover, the king Sassouma sends witches to kill Sundiata. This is what the witches say when they are with Sundiata “Listen, Djata,” said Sassouma Konkomba, “we had come here to test you. We have no need of condiments but your generosity disarms us.”  Since they discover how generous and kind Sundiata was they did not kill him. Subsequently, because of this Sundiata realizes what Sassouma is willing to do in order get rid of him and he starts to have allies to make himself stronger and fight against him.
